Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to our last day of Term One. How quickly one quarter of our school year has already gone!

Since the last newsletter we’ve had a flurry of COVID-19 cases.  In fact we’ve had over 70 students and staff test positive to the virus and many others be close contacts. Most staff and students have now recovered which is really great to see. I would like to thank all families for being so proactive in having their children tested and informing the school. I know having unwell children is awful at any time but this virus is very worrying.  As a school we extend our well wishes and thoughts to all families experiencing the challenges of COVID- 19.

Recently, we started a Breakfast Club for our students. On Wednesdays, Mrs Black and her team are providing toast, cereal, fruit and smoothies to any students who may have either missed breakfast or would like a little more breakfast.  We look forward to extending this to other mornings in the future.

Many of our school gardens are overflowing with vegetables and we thank Mr Millington our Science teacher for his great leadership in this area.

Thanks to Mr Basile, our school choir has started up again after a year of not being possible.  We’re excited to hear the melodic voices of the students early next term.

From the beginning of the year our assemblies have been over the school PA system where students could only hear what was being said. Today we held our ANZAC commemorative via Teams where the students and staff could watch on their TV screen the proceedings. We had a few glitches but hope to have them all ironed out next term. We will endeavour to include families as much as possible next term in our assemblies and other events.
