SCIENCE AT KINGSTON

This term we have been investigating Biological Sciences with students from Year 1 to Year 6 by watching life grow or wither, exploring our gardens and sampling our summer produce of tomatoes, capsicums, beetroots, corn, basil, parsley, lettuce and butternut pumpkins. Some classes were lucky enough to have eaten pumpkin scones, roast sweet potatoes and tomato chuckney (with corn chips of coarse).

But all good things must come to the end, so Bunnings Treendale has helped us with the planting of our Autumn crop. Many thanks to Christie from Bunnings and our school gardener, Luke, for on the 9th March, LA3 Year 1 and LA14 Year 4, planted seedlings that included eggplants, beans, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, rhubbard, brussel sprouts and capciums and many more other vegetables.

We look forward to returning in Term 2 and finding out what has grown. Next term we will be looking the Physical Sciences with classes. This is certainly going to heat things up in term 2.
