PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Hello Everyone
Welcome to our mid term newsletter. I cannot believe we only have 5 weeks left of the school year. How time flies when we're having fun!
So far this term we've seen our students perform exceptionally well at the athletics carnivals both at school and inter school, we've had our students proudly show their school work and classrooms during Open Night and currently teachers are busy finishing reports.
Recently, we had Christine Gibson, Activities Organiser from our local Bunnings store visit us. Christie offered donations of gardening supplies and people power to help us improve some of the areas within our school. Christie and her team have been very generous and are happy to continue with support to our school. I sincerely thank Christie and Bunnings for the additional raised garden beds, potting mix, seedlings, equipment and paint.
The P&C have also been working hard with multiple fundraising events. Last term we saw our students have tons of fun at the school disco and everyone is getting excited about the upcoming Colour Fun Run. This event is on next Friday 26th November from 12:30pm -2:45pm. Please make sure your child wears clothes that you're okay getting covered in non toxic paint. I'd recommend you covering your car seats in towels or something protective for the trip home! It's going to be fun but super messy! The money from the Colour Fun Run will go towards buying more bench seats for the school, a stage for performances and books for our new health program called The Resilience Project. Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated for the event.
Next Thursday, 25th November we will be holding our very first Inclusion Day. This is a way for us to celebrate diversity, embrace differences in others and show kindness by accepting each other and ourselves for who we are. I am so proud of the staff and students leading this day, namely Mrs Katie Mitchell and her family. The day will start with an opening ceremony at 8:45am on the school oval and then each child and staff member will have an opportunity to add their finger print to our Inclusion tree. This will be a significant day for Kingston Primary and I welcome our community to join us.
Artbeat is coming back! Mr Basile and Mrs Williams have been extremely busy for the last 16 weeks preparing for the highly creative and expressive day. ArtBeat 2021 for Year 1-6 students will take place on Thursday, 2nd December. Families are again very welcome to come along too. Please dress in 50s clothes as the theme is Rock n Roll!
Other important dates to note:
Reports will go home on Monday 13th December.
Class lists for 2022 will be displayed from 2pm – 4pm on Tuesday 14th December and from 8:30am – 3:30pm on Wednesday 15th December.
Book award ceremony for Years 1-5 will take place on Wednesday 15th December
Year 6 Graduation will be Thursday 16th December which is our last day of school.
Best wishes
