PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Hello Everyone
Well, what a great Term Two we have had at Kingston Primary. Not only did we receive some very positive feedback in our Public School Review we also completed NAPLAN without any glitches. School reports went home this week and students should be proud of their efforts.
A couple of things I would like to remind families about as we are moving to only two newsletters a term as of Term 3. To ensure we keep everyone up to date with what’s happening at Kingston Primary we have started a school Facebook page. I encourage families to “like” the Kingston Primary page to see all the wonderful things taking place. We also have our whole school communication app called Schoolzine. The way to download the app is outlined in this newsletter. In addition to these each teacher uses a Seesaw app to share class information.
In Term 4, we are having an outstanding educational expert visit us on Thursday and Friday of Week 1. His name is John Fleming and he will be demonstrating explicit instruction Mathematics lessons to staff in order to support our improvement journey. This professional learning opportunity will take on Thursday 14 October and Friday 15 October which means our Junior Athletics Carnival will move to Week 2, Term 4. The Junior carnival will now be Friday 22 October. We did try to move the visit with John, however, he is very sought after and unavailable at other times. I do apologise if changing the Junior carnival date negatively affects anyone but this is an excellent learning opportunity for staff that will ultimately support all students. The Senior Athletics carnival will be held on Friday 29 October, week 3.
Next term I will be seeking information from students as to what they like about Kingston Primary and what would make our school even better. If you have ideas too, please feel free to share these with me via an email, a chat or by dropping your thoughts into one of the many suggestion boxes we will have in the school in the coming weeks.
During Term 3 we will be having a Kingston community sausage sizzle. This will be a chance for families to come and meet the administration staff and others. More information about this will be out early next term.
As we go into holidays today, I sincerely wish you all a very happy and safe break. Looking forward to see all our students on Tuesday 20 July.
Kind regards
Katie Wallace
