On Wednesday 26^th May, as part of National Reconciliation Week some of our Aboriginal students attended the Reconciliation Bridge Walk in Bunbury.

The group walked from the Wardandi Boodja Sculpture across the bridge to the Graham Bricknell Memorial Music Shell, signifying the crossing into a new awareness of culture, land and people.

The attendees were addressed by several members representing multi-generations of the Aboriginal Community and by the Mayor of Bunbury. Their message was powerful and simple – they invited everyone to open the doors to hearing from past and present generations to give a powerful voice to the emerging leaders of the current generation. Let us celebrate and share the diverse histories and stories of the Indigenous Australian people with everyone – indigenous and non-indigenous. Let’s take action - talk about family and learn together as a nation to reconcile history by recognising all stories that shape our amazing country.
