On Friday the 23^rd April, Kingston Primary School welcomed the community into the school grounds from 6.15am for the ANZAC dawn service. There was an encouraging amount of staff, students, parents, family and community members in attendance who witnessed the stunning sunrise that morning.

We were lucky enough to be joined by Mr Kevin Eaton from the RSL who addressed the crowd and Keedyn Sweetman, Year 9 Australind Senior High School student, who aptly played the bugle for the Last Post and Reveille. The local cadets demonstrated their reverence and respect whilst forming a boundary around the flags and tributes and our student leaders led us through the moving service with Mr Jones, who recapped his own experience as a young boy growing up in Broome. A welcome addition to our service this year was the inclusion of the New Zealand National Anthem.

After the service, the Kingston Primary School P&C provided a delicious breakfast and hot drinks with the help of the local Lions Club. Thank you to everyone who participated, supported and attended this important community event on the school calendar.
