PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
At the risk of causing a Christmas panic, last Friday was the official hump day for term 4. In other words, we are over the half way mark and can see the end of term. – Christmas is close. Of course for us here at school we have a lot to do before then and our teachers are busy preparing their end of year reports. This year we will be sending our reports home with your child on Thursday 19 December. For our Kindergarten students, reports will be sent home on their last rostered attendance day. Reports will not be available before then. For those students who are not at school on December 19, reports will be posted to your mailing address on December 20.
Athletics
Congratulations to our interschool athletics team who bought home the champions trophy last week. I would like to thank Mr Campbell and all of our staff involved for their hard work in the preparation of both our faction carnival and the interschool event. Most importantly, I am very proud of all of our kids for the effort they maintained during our athletics season. Well done.
Parking Around our School
I would like to take this opportunity to talk to our community about parking around our School. At Kingston we understand that parking can be an issue for parents, particularly in wet weather. We strongly encourage parents and students to walk, ride or scoot to school, but understand that this is not possible for some.
For reasons of safety, please ensure that you always park legally. Illegal parking around our school is dangerous. Parents of students in Kindergarten and Pre-primary, please be reassured that if you are late to pick up your child, they will be kept in a safe, secure and supervised environment until they are picked up.
If you are parked illegally you could be issued an infringement by the Shire of Harvey Rangers. Rangers patrol the area on a regular basis on request from the school.
Examples of illegal parking include:
- Parking on the wrong side of the road (against the direction of traffic)
- Parking on corners
- Parking on footpaths
- Parking on house verges (trespassing)
- Parking in marked/signed no parking zones
- Parking in bus zones
- Parking in marked/signed disabled parking bays
- Parking on private property
If you require further information regarding parking, please contact the school office.
Thank you for helping to keep our families safe.
Regards
Ashley King
