Our classes have settled and our kids have well and truly got into the swing of things here at school. I hope the morning and evening routines are working out for you at home as well.
I would like to congratulate all of our students and their families for ensuring that our kids wear their school uniform every day. Once again we have a 100% compliance rate with regard to this.
We are working really hard to improve our whole school attendance in 2020 and so far so good. Our good standing policy is designed to help us with this. Also, you will notice that if your child is away and the absence is not explained, you will be sent a note from us asking to explain the absence. We are aiming to get our unexplained absences down to zero.
Bikes and Scooters
Bikes and scooters are a great way to get to and from school every day and many of our kids use them. If your child does ride or scoot to school, please make sure they have a lock so they can secure their bike when they get here. It is also a good idea to actually show them how to lock up the bike or scooter as many of the lock methods we are seeing are ineffective. Bike helmets are an essential item when riding to and from school and we expect all students to comply with this. While it is not a legal requirement to wear a helmet while riding a scooter, it is certainly something that we highly recommend.
Year Six Camp.
By the time you read this note many of our year six students will be on camp with our very brave staff. We hope they have a fantastic three days.
School Traffic and Parking.
Thank you to all those drivers who are super cautious and vigilant when driving and parking around our school. Unfortunately, we receive regular phone calls from parents and community members telling about a “near miss” that they have witnessed. Please be extra patient when driving around our school. We regularly remind students about road safety and how to navigate the traffic around the school. Please be super vigilant on the roads and please do not park on any footpaths.
School Development Day
This Friday all of our staff will be participating in the second day of training in the “Talk for Writing” program that we are using in our school this year. Of course this means that STUDENTS DO NOT ATTEND SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28.
Have a great week.

This fortnight our Core Virtue is : Courage
Courage is personal bravery in the face of fear. It is doing what needs to be done even when it is really hard or scary. Courage is going ahead even when you feel like giving up. Courage is needed in trying new things. It is admitting mistakes and then doing the right thing. Courage is the strength in your heart.
I have courage. I am willing to try new things. I admit mistakes and learn from them. I listen to my heart. I have the courage to do the right thing.
We are looking for Donations for Easter Raffle we are having in the Month of April. If you have anything to donate, please drop it off at the Front Office.

Over the past few weeks, the year 4-6’s have been completing a variety of fitness tests, so that they can get an idea of what areas they can focus on and improve over the course of the year. Next we will be learning and playing modified Hockey. Students will be learning all the basic skills and rules of Hockey. I will be ensuring students learn and play in a safe environment. The students will be using appropriate size hockey sticks, balls and shin pads when appropriate. If you have any questions please feel free to come and see me.
